Black Ink Wine Now Available
Jan. 7, 2015
A new wine has entered the Illinois market, Black Ink, a propriety blend of California reds including Syrah, Merlot, Zinfandel and Malbec with a dark, juicy, rich personality.
The Look
Black Ink's stylish, urban design stands apart on the shelf, a valuable quality for attracting the interest of the growing, of-age millennial segment. According to Fox Business, consumers between the ages of 21 to 32 are more concerned with the design of the wine bottles they purchase than previous consumer segments.
"This generation wants to know the story of a wine. [Increasingly], you are going to see bottles that have a cool design that is authentic," said Melissa Saunders, owner of Communal Brands. Black Ink's label fits the bill.
The Taste
The brand's decadent, blackberry cobbler taste is highlighted by hints of smoky licorice. Black Ink's smooth and bold notes make it a tried-and-true California red with a bold, modern take.
The Charm
Studies show that despite the skepticism business owners may feel about featuring a new product, when it comes to wine, new varieties are driving growth across categories. Black Ink's appealing name, approachable tasting notes, accessible price point, and iconic design will resonate with your customers.
According to IRI Worldwide, red blends are currently the #6 selling wine varietal on the market, and the fastest-growing flavor of the Top 10 sellers. In addition, Black Ink falls in the fastest growing price segment within the Red Blend Category ($8.00 - $10.99).
