Piper Sonoma’s Sparkling New Look

Jan. 6, 2020

You can’t judge a book by its cover, or a wine by the label. However, the right look for a bottle can be just what it takes to hook a consumer’s interest. Just ask our friends at Piper Sonoma, who recently relaunched their line of sparkling California wines with a beautiful, engaging new look which still pays homage to the brand’s incredible history, and a new wine.

A Monument to Taste

Piper Sonoma’s new look is also a tribute to the winery’s home in the Golden State, with each front label proudly featuring the Bear Flag Monument, a California historical landmark, located in the Sonoma Plaza. In addition, the new design for the brand’s packaging delivers new premium elements, such as label and hood embossing as well as a bold design aimed to bolster the brand's visibility on the shelf.

The new design aesthetic builds upon Sonoma County’s reputation as a growing region for sparkling wine production, and Piper Sonoma’s prominent place in the county’s history. According to the company, Nielsen reported recently that in the last year alone, California’s sparkling wine market (for bottles priced at $15 or higher) has grown by 7 percent in volume and 7.5 percent in value. Piper Sonoma’s lineup can be a powerful tool for businesses looking to capitalize upon that growth.

Brand New Brand

Leading the charge with Piper Sonoma's new brand is their newest addition to the Piper Sonoma family of wines: Brut Reserve. Not only is it the newest addition to the portfolio, Brut Reserve is now the brand's prestige sparkling wine, selected from only the most exceptional parcels available, according to the company, with a blend which reflects the Sonoma County appellation’s foremost characters. The red fruits, strawberry, and rhubarb flavors of pinot noir are balanced with the citrus, mineral and green apple acidity of chardonnay to create a wine that is uniquely expressive of the cool and coastal Sonoma County region, per a statement from Piper Sonoma.

Brut Reserve is currently available in limited quantities, but the rest of Piper Sonoma’s rich portfolio ready to help your business build on demand for California sparkling wines. The company’s trademark cuvée, Piper Sonoma's Brut, blends chardonnay and pinot noir into a dry, fresh wine with crisp citrus flavors, hints of green apple, mandarin orange, and brioche on the finish. The latest release of Blanc de Blancs NV is a blend of chardonnay and Pinot Blanc which is straw in color and shows aromas of crisp green apple, citrus and white flowers. The Brut Rosé blends chardonnay with pinot noir and pinot blanc, producing aromas of freshly picked berries and tangerine, while the palate displays red fruits and citrus, showcasing the bright fruit flavors of Sonoma County.

Each of these wines sports the company’s bold, new label and delivers the best of Sonoma County. Talk to your Breakthru Sales Consultant today to get them on your shelf.
