1800 Tequila and Pusha-T Support Hip-Hop’s Next Generation

Dec. 27, 2018

The makers of 1800 Tequila understand passion, and how it drives the creative process. It was passion that led to the brand’s creation, in the year 1800, as the world’s first premium tequila, and passion that continues to inspire the men and women who make 1800 Tequila today.

There is a similar passion behind hip-hop legend Pusha-T and the work he is doing through G.O.O.D Music to foster the next generation of musical artists. As they say, “game recognize game,” and now 1800 Tequila has partnered with Pusha-T to launch a nationwide search for 10 aspiring hip-hop artists through the new musical platform “1800 Seconds (:1800).”

Together, Pusha-T and 1800 Tequila are giving 10 exciting, unsigned artists the opportunity of a lifetime. Through the platform, they are able to write, record and release an original three-minute track on the 30-minute compilation album, 1800 Seconds, with the benefit of support and marketing from Pusha-T’s label, and 1800 Tequila. This unique album is a showcase for the future sound of hip-hop, as well as an effective way for 1800 Tequila to reach hip, urban consumers with the brand’s identity and message.

1800 Seconds continues the contribution and support that 1800 Tequila has given to hip-hop culture over the years with programs including "The Refined Player" series and "Back to the Block" series.

"The 1800 Seconds platform is a time for me to connect on an executive and mentor level and push the next generation of creatives in music forward,” Pusha-T said in a recent statement. “Hip-hop is all about staying connected to culture, being inspired by what's happening on the streets and translating that to your audience. The new 1800 Seconds compilation does just that, and I was excited to perform alongside all 10 talented artists in New York City.”

As the first curator chosen by 1800 Tequila for the 1800 Seconds platform, Pusha-T personally selected each rising artist on the album from across the country. To find out more about the album, the artists, and to watch the behind-the-scenes documentary, please visit 1800seconds.com
