Mix Your Menu: Bloody Mary with a Twist

Dec. 11, 2017

Earlier in 2017, we debuted a brand new cocktail recipe series called “Mix Your Menu,” which will take three recipes that you’ve come to know and love – but this time, with a unique twist. We also delivered new recipes for summer cocktails, Moscow Mules and the Old Fashioned.

In this edition of “Mix Your Menu,” we focus on riffing the Bloody Mary.

Breakthru Arizona’s Matt Lockwood – a 20-year beverage industry veteran with extensive experience designing custom cocktails for high-profile bars and restaurants – serves up three spins on the classic “hair of the dog” drink.

2 oz. silver tequila

4 oz. fresh Bloody Mary mix

2 dashes of Tapatio Sauce

2 dashes of Tabasco Sauce

Present with lemon, lime, pickle, jalapeno and pepperoncini

“Classic twist on the Bloody Mary using silver tequila instead of Vodka. You can add extra hot sauce and kick it up a couple of few notches.”

2 oz. bourbon

4 oz. fresh Bloody Mary mix

2 dashes of hot sauce

1 tsp wasabi

Present with celery stalk, lime wedge, blue cheese-stuffed olives

“Excellent flavor profiles pairing bourbon and bacon. It is one of the best ways to enjoy brunch!”

2 oz. cucumber vodka

4 oz. fresh Bloody Mary mix

2 dashes of hot sauce

Present with cucumber, olive, cocktail onion, rosemary and black pepper

“A slight twist from the classic Bloody Mary by adding the amazing flavors of cucumber. Try muddling cucumbers and limes before building this cocktail!”

BONUS! If you are short on time, and still want to serve a high-quality Bloody Mary, talk to your Breakthru Sales Consultant about stocking up on Cutwater Spirits and their excellent canned Bloody Marys.
