2015 San Francisco Spirits Competition Layers Wirtz Beverage Portfolio with Double Gold

Forty-one spirits experts gathered on March 19-22 in San Francisco for the 15th Annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition, which is widely recognized as the most influential international spirits contest. The competition was stiff with more than 1,580 entries, more than any previous year.
The prestigious panel of nationally recognized judges includes Chicago's own Charles Joly, who has been an event judge for the last three years.
"Over four intensive days, more than 40 of the most experienced, tuned palates in the business sit together to nose, taste, swish, swill (and sometimes drink) nearly 1,600 bottles of booze in every category imaginable submitted to the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for evaluation," Joly said in an interview with Eater.com.
Wirtz Beverage Illinois' portfolio is stacked with awards, with its supplier partners taking home a total of 60 awards in the Best of Show and Double Gold Categories, the highest honors the contest awards.
