Breakthru Wisconsin Helps Raise Nearly $1M for Steve Stricker Foundation
Aug. 18, 2016
A brand new charity golf tournament teed off in Madison this summer and posted a score that Wisconsin can be very proud of.
The inaugural American Family Insurance Championship–a three day PGA TOUR Champions golf tournament where Breakthru Wisconsin served as a tournament partner–raised nearly $1 million for the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation. Stricker, a 12-time winner on the PGA Tour, started the foundation to support a variety of charities, including the organization that will benefit from this year’s tournament fundraising–the American Family Children’s Hospital.
Ranked among the top 50 children’s hospitals by U.S. News, the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison has treated thousands of ill children since its opening in 2007.
"On behalf of the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation, we thank the nearly 150 sponsors, 1,200 volunteers and over 50,000 fans who participated in the inaugural American Family Insurance Championship,” said Tournament Director Nate Pokrass. “Due to their collective passionate support of the tournament, the foundation will be able to provide a tremendous impact on the American Family Children's Hospital and other local charities. The PGA TOUR Champions has a bright future ahead in the state of Wisconsin."
