Giving Back to one of our Community’s Best: Lowcountry Food Bank

Feb. 22, 2017

One of the many charitable initiatives the Breakthru South Carolina family helps address every year is an issue that affects 1 in 6 people in our state, which is hunger. This week, Breakthru SC is excited to partner again with the Lowcountry Food Bank, an incredibly important organization to our community as they provide food to 200,000 families every year.

“The Lowcountry Food Bank has long been a trusted partner of Breakthru, and we’re thrilled to continue to support their work in helping address hunger in South Carolina,” said Sean O’Connor, President of Breakthru South Carolina.

This week during our Annual Breakthru Beverage Leadership Conference, Breakthru leadership and associates broke from the yearly meeting to help pack and process nearly 30,000 pounds of food for LCFB’s School Pantry Program. In addition, O’Connor and Breakthru President & CEO Greg Baird presented a $5,000 check to the LCFB to show our support to the organization.

Last year, Breakthru South Carolina partnered with LCFB on a variety of initiatives, including a Thanksgiving turkey drive that delivered more than 2,000 holiday meals to local families, and donating a portion of the proceeds from the “Whiskey After Dark: South Carolina Tour” to the food bank.

We look forward to continuing this important partnership for years to come. For more information on how you can help donate to the LCFB, please visit: https://www.lowcountryfoodbank.org/
