Moët Hennessy Partners with City Harvest

May 30, 2018

The world over, people are raising glasses to toast each other, and the luckiest among them are raising glasses filled with wine and spirits from our partners at Moët Hennessy. But today, we are toasting the great work done by the Moët Hennessy USA team in New York City. Recently, the iconic luxury spirits announced a new partnership with City Harvest, a pioneering non-profit organization which feeds nearly 1.3 hungry in the city. Moët Hennessy USA will be the organization’s exclusive wine and spirits partner, donating both time and resources to support City Harvest’s ongoing mission.

The partnership got off to a great in April start during National Volunteer Week, when Moët Hennessy USA staff took part in one of City Harvest’s Repack on the Road events. The team assembled 1,000 snack packs, which will serve 7,000 children in preschool, Head Start, and after school programs in the city. The day’s events were just the beginning of the 200 volunteer hours our partners at Moët Hennessy USA have committed to providing help City Harvest feed families in need through the end of the year.

In addition to the volunteer hours, Moët Hennessy USA is proud to serve as a sponsor for each of City Harvest’s signature events for 2018, including the 35th Anniversary Gala, held last month and honoring Chrissy Teigen and other philanthropy luminaries. Proceeds from the Gala went to support City Harvest’s efforts to rescue healthy food that would otherwise be wasted, and provide it to low-income families and neighborhoods in New York City.

"Nearly 1.3 million New Yorkers face hunger every year, including one in five children in our city," said City Harvest CEO Jilly Stephens. "We're proud to partner with Moët Hennessy to ensure that residents across the five boroughs have enough nutritious food for themselves and their families. Moët Hennessy's generous commitment will help feed over 200,000 of our neighbors in need."

The drive to improve our communities is also a key part of Breakthru’s foundation, and we are thrilled to work with a company with a similar commitment to making a difference. The partnership with City Harvest is the direct result of the work by the Moët Hennessy Philanthropic Committee, formed last year and charged with supporting national charitable initiatives that tie with the heritage and identity of the brands, while fostering a community spirit within the organization.

In its first year, the committee has already organized volunteers, donations and resources for major local non-profits in the greater New York area, and deployed volunteers in California, Illinois, Florida and Texas.

"The Moët Hennessy USA team and I could not be more excited to partner with City Harvest " said Jim Clerkin, President and CEO of Moët Hennessy North America. "We are an organization that highly values our commitment to philanthropy, community and sustainability, which fully aligns with the mission of City Harvest whose Healthy Neighborhoods programs make it possible for us to make a difference."

Kudos to Moët Hennessy USA for leading the way in spirits and charitable work, and hopefully inspiring others to make a positive change in their own communities.
