Domaine Chandon Named 2018 Domestic Winery of the Year

Oct. 23, 2018

Even after 45 years in the industry, Domaine Chandon is proving it’s still the reigning sparkling wine champion.

The California winery was awarded 2018 Domestic Winery of the Year by the International Wine and Spirits Competition: Sommelier Challenge in September.

The Sommelier Challenge received 1,139 entries and after a blind taste test, Domaine Chandon had two of its submissions come out on top. Chandon Brut scored 94 points and Chandon étoile Rosé scored 95 points, with both being certified platinum. Wines were evaluated on a 100-point scale and only 62 of the wines submitted were given the Platinum distinction.

Cristian Yanez, Vice President of Breakthru Beverage Group’s Business Development United Division - Moët Hennessy, sees Chandon’s win as a testament to the wine producer’s dedication to the craft.

“The Sommelier Challenge award is a fantastic brand achievement,” Yanez said. “It’s recognizing the Domaine Chandon team’s hard work and commitment to producing the highest quality sparkling wine.”

Breakthru is excited to be able to partner with such a celebrated brand. Contact your local sales representative to find out how you can share Domaine Chandon’s win with consumers.
