Founded in 1978 in Napa, California by Swiss entrepreneur Donald Hess, Hess has become a leading family owned winery in the United States. Today, the mantle of ownership has passed to the next generation family members, Sabrina and Tim Persson.
With 30 years of quiet leadership in sustainable vineyard practices, coupled with significant investment in mountain vineyards and a new state-of-the-art winery on Mount Veeder, Hess garners 90+ point scores on its entire portfolio of Estate wines. That portfolio includes wines from Mount Veeder, Napa Valley as well as California’s central and north coast.
In addition, the family owns two boutique wineries in Salta, Argentina.
