Deschutes’ New IPA is So Good it Needs No Embellishment

Visiting Oregon is an awesome experience that everyone should have at least once. The state’s natural beauty and friendly people are a wonderful reminder of what makes America such a wonderful place.

And, of course, there’s the beer.

Oregon produces a myriad of beloved craft beers, and now our friends at Deschutes are sending one of their finest out to the rest of the nation. ‘Only Slightly Exaggerated IPA,’ created in conjunction with Travel Oregon’s ‘Only Slightly Exaggerated’ ad campaign, was once only available in the Beaver State. Now, we are happy to announce this crisp, delicious IPA will be coming to markets all over the country—a beer-based goodwill tour, if you will—and Breakthru Beverage has it.

 

Oregon On My Mind

Originally conceived as a seasonal summer beer release, Only Slightly Exaggerated IPA, embodies the fun, joyful spirit of its namesake ad campaign.

“We love the Only Slightly Exaggerated campaign—the artwork is so whimsical and fun,” says Veronica Vega, Director of Product Development for Deschutes in a statement from the company. “We've paired the campaign with our newest seasonal, inspired by that same sense of magic.”

This very-Oregon beer was created with the popular profound Sabro hop, itself a native of the Northwest, imparting the beer with what Deschutes calls an exceptional “slightly exaggerated” flavor combination of bourbon barrel, coconut, and tropical notes. Vega said, “it's surprising that a hop could bring these characteristics to a beer,” and that “we paired up the unique coconut character of Sabro with tropical hops to create something distinct from our other citrus-led IPAs.”

 

Get It Before It’s Oregone

Now that this seasonal collaboration is complete, Only Slightly Exaggerated IPA will soon be available in 32 states across the country. In addition to delighting the taste buds of beer drinkers nationwide, Only Slightly Exaggerated IPA will also hopefully spark the imaginations of consumers, inspiring them to make their own trips to Oregon.
