Metropolitan Brewing

Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin is thrilled to announce that Metropolitan Brewing is available for order starting May 1st. The Chicago brewery will make its Wisconsin debut during Madison Craft Beer Week with events planned featuring the beers throughout the week.

Metropolitan Brewing was born when Wisconsin-natives, Doug and Tracy Hurst opened in 2009, becoming the first microbrewery to open in Chicago in a decade.  Metropolitan prides itself on a firm devotion to creating German-style beers, specifically, lagers, that are enjoyable to consume. Over the course of their first ten years in business, they developed the brewery’s presence throughout Chicago, and crafting new brews throughout the year.

Wisconsin is the first market outside of Metropolitan’s home state of Illinois to carry the brewer. Beginning May 1st, Wisconsinites can enjoy Metropolitan’s year-round staples: Krankshaft, Flywheel and Dynamo.

The Beers

Krankshaft is a Kölsch style beer and inspired by Cologne, Germany. Considered to be Metropolitan’s most popular beer, the lager is light, dry and clean with a lemony flavor.

Flywheel is a Bright Lager and offers spicy hop flavors and bitterness you’d expect in a pilsner with a bit of malt for balance.

Dynamo Copper Lager is a Vienna-style lager with a bit of malt making for a toasty flavor complimented by a balance of hops.

Welcome these brews to your business on May 1st and join our team in celebrating their arrival at Madison Craft Beer Week.
