CUTTY SARK PROHIBITION EDITION WHISKY

The Story:Released 90 years after the end of its namesake, Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition was crafted as a salute to the notorious Captain William McCoy, who smuggled Cutty Sark blended Scotch whisky into America during the Prohibition era of the 1920s prompting the whisky to be known as "The Real McCoy".
Tasting Notes: American oak gives the whiskey subtle flavors of vanilla and ripe citrus fruits. With a silky mouth feel, Cutty Sark coats the mouth with layers of toffee, black pepper and spice. The finish is smooth and lingering.

The whisky also gained immense popularity after it became noted that Templeton Rye was Al Capone’s whiskey of choice. Hundreds of kegs were supplied each month to Capone and his gang, who in turn filled the demand of speakeasies across the U.S.
Tasting Notes: Templeton’s aroma is dry and grassy with some holiday spice coming in towards the end. Slightly chewy on the palate, there are strong flavors of caramel, butterscotch and allspice, balanced by a clean, wonderfully smooth finish.
