William Hill Estate Winery is the Official Wine of the PGA Tour

Apr. 11, 2017

Now on the tee at 2017 PGA Tour events – William Hill Estate Winery.

“We wanted to bring the Napa Valley out to the golf fans,” said Jilliann Hill, William Hill Estate Winery Representative. “This partnership was kind of serendipitous. We were looking for a prominent partnership and the PGA Tour had an opening, and golf and wine just go hand in hand.”

The 40-year-old Napa Valley winery and the PGA Tour were first paired during the 2015 PGA Tour season when William Hill Estate became the official wine of the tour. Since then, golf fans have enjoyed the luxurious William Hill Estate Wine Lounge, a one-of-a-kind mobile tasting room where spectators can watch a tournament while appreciating award-winning wine.

“It’s a very unique experience for golf consumers,” said Hill. “The response from them has been very positive, and we’re seeing a lift in the marketplace.”

PGA Tour audiences—a highly-educated, affluent and influential consumer group—demonstrated their taste for high-quality wines as over 100,000 fans sampled William Hill Estate wines last season, and E. & J. Gallo Winery, the owners of William Hill, have noticed that the on-course tasting rooms have led attendees to seek out William Hill after the round ended.

“As a result of the amount of exposure the William Hill brand garnered at the PGA tournaments, thousands of people now know and recognize our brand,” said Michael Fennessy, Director of Fine Wine, Southeast Area, E. & J. Gallo Winery. “So now, when they go to a restaurant or a store and purchase wine, they are more likely to look for William Hill. This bodes well for our on- and off-premise partners.”

William Hill Estate Winery is set to appear at PGA events throughout the entire season, and they’ve built an impressive bag with many of their top portfolio selections, including the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley Collection, the entire Coastal Collection (Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Pinot Noir) and La Marca Prosecco.

“The William Hill Wine Lounge is a relaxing experience where PGA fans are able to enjoy our brands,” said Fennessy. “We are proud to have our brand be associated with the PGA Tour, and feel that it is a perfect partnership."
