From Brewing Process and Ingredients to Beer Styles and Off-Flavor Training, Wirtz Beverage Illinois Master Cicerone Dave Kahle will be leading craft beer training sessions throughout 2015 for employees of on- and off-premise establishments.

Brewing Process & Ingredients:
Learn the basics and more about Hops, Malt, Water and Yeast. Master Cicerone Dave Kahle will cover these ingredients, as well as the essentials of brewing in a two-hour class. This will prepare you for the Process and Ingredients questions on the Cicerone Beer Server and Certified Cicerone exams.

Sample and discuss beer styles from Belgium, Germany, England and the United States. Master Cicerone Dave Kahle will take you through a tasting of several key beer styles, focusing on flavor recognition, history and unique details. Armed with this experience, feel confident taking the Cicerone Beer Server exam or the tasting section of the Certified Cicerone exam.

Off-Flavor Training: Gain confidence taking the Certified Cicerone exam or managing your beer program with this off-flavor training. Master Cicerone Dave Kahle will lead a tasting of common off-flavors found in beer. This knowledge is critical for monitoring beer quality at your bar, restaurant or store. Learn about the origins of off-flavors to determine how they can become part of a beer’s flavor profile. Quality control doesn’t end at the brewery.
