Breakthru Welcomes Tequila Mi CAMPO to Wisconsin

May 1, 2019

Tequila is on the rise, and our partners at Constellation are getting in front of the category with the new Tequila Mi CAMPO, a tequila which melds traditional techniques—and dedication to quality—with a distinctly modern sensibility, repositioning the traditions of tequila for a new generation of tequila drinkers. Innovations are driving Tequila Mi CAMPO, from the unique packaging to the forward-thinking distillation processes, and helping make it a go-to agave spirit for the burgeoning market segment of millennials in the 25 to 35 year-old-age brackets.

Sweet Style

Before the bottle is even opened, Mi CAMPO has a distinct advantage, thanks to its gorgeous, eye-catching bottle design. The shape of the bottle is inspired in part by the shape of a margarita glass, while the logo and label are brightly colored and vibrant, easily standing out on the shelf or the back bar. The design of the label is provided by Mexico City artist Raúl Urias, whose intricate design depicting elements of the tequila making process and Mexican culture—both modern and ancient—in one engaging image, one which conveys the energetic, original style of Mi CAMPO.

Main Squeeze

Tequila Mi CAMPO’s innovations begin long before the bottle is ever filled. The distillation process for Tequila Mi CAMPO begins with an innovative process which squeezes the cooked piñas to extract the agave juice, rather than the traditional method of crushing the piñas with a stone roller wheel called a tahona. This method, according to Constellation, helps to eliminate flavors of bitterness in the resulting tequila, leaving behind a tequila which is smooth and delicious.

Give it a Rest

Mi Campo Blanco is rested for three weeks in Chardonnay barrels, instilling the liquid with aromas of fresh coconut, almonds, sweet orange and green apple layered over hints of elegant vanilla, and tastes of orange blossom tea with underscores of honey balanced with white pepper notes.

The Reposado, on the other hand, is aged for four months in a 70/30 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir barrels, resulting in aromas of ripe banana and chocolate layered over fragrances of vanilla, cinnamon and clove, with tastes of honey maple, white chocolate, and pepper with a toasted oak finish.

These two delicious expressions will be joined soon by Tequila Mi CAMPO Añejo. Keep an eye out and check in with your Breakthru Sales Consultant to stay current on Mi CAMPO and the full Constellation portfolio.
