Breakthru PA and E&J Gallo have generously donated $20,000 to an organization that puts wounded veterans in homes suited to their needs. Veterans such as Christopher Gordon.

In 2005, Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Gordon was serving in Iraq when a roadside bomb hit his vehicle. The horrific explosion resulted in the loss of his right leg below the knee. After a year-long recovery, Gordon moved back home and found that living in a non-ADA compliant home presented challenges in completing basic everyday chores. That’s where Homes For Our Troops comes in.

Its motto is “building homes, rebuilding lives.” Since the nonprofit’s inception in 2004, Homes for Our Troops has built over 200 mortgage-free homes for severely injured post- 9/11 veterans. Gordon, his wife Christy and their three children moved into their HFOT home last year.

During a recent Breakthru PA sales meeting, the Homes For Our Troops team addressed the company and spoke to the life-changing impact HFOT has had on the lives of Veterans.

"The E&J Gallo Winery and Breakthru Beverage are companies that are honored to have the opportunity to give back and thank the veterans who have given so much to our country,” said Mike Furey, director of sales, E&J Gallo Winery. “Through their sacrifices, we continue to enjoy the blessings of liberty and freedom."

Gordon’s story, along with other HFOT homeowners, has inspired the Breakthru PA team to contribute to the cause by helping build an HFOT home only minutes from the Breakthru office. The home will be finished in October.

Congratulations to the Breakthru PA and E&J Gallo team on helping make a difference in the lives of heroes who deserve a home that suits their needs.
