Make Wishes Come True for the Kids of Metro New York

Breakthru Beverage is proud to support our long-time partner, Make-A-Wish Foundation, by hosting the 13th annual wine tasting and auction Wine & Wishes at Chelsea Piers on Wed., March 23. Through the generous support of New York Metro’s community, including patrons, NYC’s finest chefs and caterers, as well as supplier partners like Diageo North America, this event will add onto the $6.3 million dollars raised in the 12 years since its inception. Funds raised have resulted in more than 685 wishes granted for local children with life-threatening medical conditions.
This year’s event features 25 of the city’s finest restaurants, with Benjamin’s Steakhouse, Casa Nona, Catch, Scarpetta and Strip House set up in a special VIP area. The offerings for this year’s auction include a California VIP wine experience, a distillery tour of Scotland and more. Auction items can be viewed online ahead of time here.
Over 850 attendees are expected for the evening’s auctions and merriment. Though the mood will be festive, the reason for the event is never far from the mind of the event’s founder, Charles Merinoff, Breakthru Beverage Co-Chariman. “The work Make-A-Wish does is critical to the health of these in-need children, because fighting disease takes more than just medicine, it takes hope and the will to fight,” said Merinoff. “Making their wishes come true reminds these kids why they need to continue to fight every day.”
Pat Clemency, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York, praised Merinoff’s on behalf of Make-A-Wish. “I am truly in awe of what Charlie and his team have accomplished. Wine & Wishes has become an event that we all look forward to each and every spring and is one of our most important fundraising events of the year.”
