Hennessy Society Welcomes Class of 2018

Hennessy dominates the Cognac category. According to Shanken, the legendary brand holds nearly 70% of the cognac market, up from 61% just five years ago, and we at Breakthru are thrilled to partner with Hennessy throughout the nation. Breakthru celebrates that partnership each February with the Hennessy Society, a recently-created community of top-selling sales consultants and managers who have excelled in the sales and promotion of Hennessy V.S.O.P. and X.O. Hennessy Cognac brands in Breakthru markets. Last year we welcomed our initial class of honorees, and Feb. 23 saw the induction of our second class at a special dinner in New York. This year’s class included the top 24 members of our United Division, a more than 900-strong sales force focused on luxury and premium brands like Hennessy.

Each of the new Hennessy Society members received their own piece of Hennessy’s history in the form of bottles from the Cognac 250th anniversary barrel, symbolizing the rich and complex history of Moët Hennessy. Also, the Robin Hood Foundation of New York benefitted from proceeds of sales of the 250th anniversary barrel, reinforcing Moët Hennessy’s commitment to supporting charitable work in the community. The Robin Hood Foundation is New York's largest poverty-fighting organization that focuses on finding, funding and creating programs such as soup kitchens, homeless shelters, schools, job-training programs and other vital services to assist families in New York's poorest neighborhoods.

Breakthru and Moët Hennessy have a long history of collaboration, most recently renewed in 2016, when Breakthru’s United Division sales scorecard outpaced Moët Hennessy’s national average and demonstrated not only our commitment to the brand but our capability to deliver wins throughout the country.

This year’s reception honored sales associates and managers from eight markets across the country. Hennessy Society members will be inducted on an annual basis, highlighting the top performers supporting the V.S.O.P. and X.O Hennessy Cognac brands of Moët Hennessy’s portfolio across Breakthru’s footprint.
