Bols’ Bold New Spirit: Nuvo

Created in 2007 by Raphael Yakoby of London Group, Nuvo is a pink sparkling liqueur which combines the luxuriousness of bubbly with the premium, refined nature of an aperitif. According to Bols internal research, Nuvo appeals to consumers who wish to enjoy the sophistication, versatility and fun that the brand embodies. It is particularly popular among Latinx consumers, Millennials and women, according to Ashley Elysee, Trade Marketing Manager for Lucas Bols USA. “Nuvo is the world’s first sparkling liqueur,” Elysee told Breakthru. “It doesn’t get much more special than that.” 

Elysee recommends enjoying Nuvo chilled, in a Champagne flute, though it is also often consumed chilled on the rocks, or with tequila, vodka or sparkling wine, according to Bols. “It also blends beautifully with our Passoã liqueur to make a fantastic sparkling rosé sangria,” said Elysee.

In 2017, according to a statement from Bols, Nuvo sold approximately 10,000 cases in the U.S., with significant room for expansion as brand awareness increases. To that end, Lucas Bols, the U.S. distributor for Nuvo, is relaunching the brand to consumers, with a primary focus on American markets. Yakoby’s London Group will spearhead strategic marketing, such as social media. Currently, Nuvo is in the spotlight in a slate of music videos from Latinx performers, such as J Alvarez, Paulina Rubio, Pitbull and many others.
