8 Essential Cocktails for Your Winter Drinks Menu

Breakthru Beverage Group’s beverage development team has returned from the Alchemy Room with a new set of cocktails perfect for winter’s blustery weather.

The Banana Seat featuring Brenne French Single Malt Whiskey

 

Ingredients

Directions

Pour just enough banana liqueur into the glass to coat it and then discard the rest. In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine Brenne, vermouth and Galliano L’Apertivo. Stir for 20-30 seconds until the drink is well chilled. Straight into the banana liqueur rinsed glass. Express an orange peel over the top of the cocktail and garnish with a dried banana chip.

 

Blueberry Fields featuring Bluecoat Gin 

 

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz. Bluecoat American Gin
  • 2-3 basil leaves
  • 6-8 fresh blueberries
  • 1 egg white
  • 0.5 oz. simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz. fresh lemon juice

Directions

Combine all ingredient into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until well chilled. Pour the entire mixture into a chilled Collins glass, including the ice and blueberries. Top with additional crushed ice and soda water. Serve with a paper straw.

 

Christmas Morning Mule featuring FEW Breakfast Gin 

 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. FEW Breakfast Gin
  • 0.5 oz. grenadine
  • 3 whole allspice berries
  • .075 fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz ginger beer

Directions

Add the first three ingredients into a cocktail shaker and muddle just enough to crush the allspice berries. Add the fresh lime juice, along with a lot of ice. Shake until well chilled. Add ginger beer and then strain everything through a fine mesh strainer and pour into a Collins glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.

 

Cobble Together featuring Mezcal Vago Elote 

 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Mezcal Vago Elote
  • 1 oz. Real coconut cream
  • 0.75 fresh lime juice
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters

Directions

Combine mezcal, coconut cream, lime juice and bitters into a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass and top with crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

 

Full Tilt Boogie featuring Bluecoat Barrel Reserve Gin 

 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Bluecoat Barrel Reserve Gin
  • 0.25 oz. Giffard Vanilla Liqueur
  • 0.25 oz. simple syrup
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 1 dash cardamom bitters

Directions

Combine gin, vanilla liqueur, simple syrup and bitters into a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until chilled and slightly diluted. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with an expressed grapefruit peel.

 

Something’s Stirring featuring FEW Barrel Gin 

 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. FEW Barrel Gin
  • 0.75 Foro amaro
  • 0.25 oz. maraschino liqueur
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters

Directions

Combine FEW Barrel Gin, amaro, maraschino liqueur and bitter in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until well chilled and slightly diluted. Strain into a rocks glass with one large cube of ice. Mist the oil from a swath of lemon peel over the drink and serve.

 

You’d Never Guess featuring Brenne French Single Malt Whisky

 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Brenne French Single Malt Whisky
  • 0.5 oz. Bigallet China-China
  • 0.75 fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz. simple syrup
  • Soda water

Directions

Combine the Brenne French Single Malt, Bigallet China-China, lemon juice and simply syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until well chilled, then pour the drink – including the ice – into a chilled Collins glass. Top with soda water.

 

Widow’s Lament featuring Widow Jane 10 Year Bourbon 

 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Widow Jane 10 Year Bourbon
  • 0.5 oz. amoretto
  • 2-3 dashes orange bitters

Directions

Combine Widow Jane 10 Year Bourbon, amoretto and orange bitter in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until well chilled and slightly diluted. Strain into a rocks glass with one large cube of ice. Garnish with a slice of orange or orange peel.
