“Save Our Cities.” That was the theme and rallying cry at the 2016 National Urban League Conference, held in Baltimore this summer. Attendees from around the country traveled to Baltimore for this year’s conference, which included events at the Ivy Hotel and Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park, and Breakthru Beverage Maryland was proud to serve as the exclusive alcohol sponsor for both.

The conference kicked off with a special pre-event reception for the National Urban League CEO and 100 VIPs at the Ivy Hotel, and continued with an opening ceremony at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park. The opening ceremony included a performance from Baltimore’s own Dru Hill and was attended by around 1,500 people. Breakthru Beverage Maryland provided wine and spirits from our partner suppliers, including Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Gentlemen Jack Daniel’s, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, Milagro Tequila, Flor De Cana Rum, Edna Valley Wine, Mia Dolcea Wine, Glenfiddich Scotch, Moët Hennessey and Hendricks Gin.

Special guests for the conference included Calvin Butler, ceo of BG&E, Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League, Lt. Gov. Boyd K Rutherford, Kim Horn, president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, among others. Breakthru Beverage is honored to be a part of this wonderful event, and we look forward to seeing the fruits of this conference in the great work of the National Urban League.
