Breakthru Beverage Illinois Partners with No Kid Hungry and Taste of the Nation to Help Feed Children in Need

Childhood hunger is an unfortunate but prevalent crisis throughout the nation. Last week, the west side of Chicago served as a gathering place for those who want to solve it.

And Breakthru Beverage Illinois was proudly among that group.

Taste of the Nation held a fundraising event in collaboration with and in honor of No Kid Hungry, an organization that aims to end childhood hunger while highlighting culinary talent.

Chicago’s top restaurants, bars, chefs and mixologists came together with their best dishes and drinks for attendees to sample. There were 800 attendees, 53 chefs and mixologists, 48 volunteers, nine local sponsors and four national sponsors.

Breakthru IL, through a partnership with Share Our Strength, happily provided alcoholic beverages for the event and supplied wine for NKH’s wine raffle.

“Participating in this year’s Taste of the Nation event was an incredibly gratifying experience not only because it brings together Chicago’s top bartender and chefs, but 100% of the proceeds ensure that no child goes hungry in America,” said Breakthru IL Beverage Development Manager Natalia Cardenas. “Partnering with Share our Strength was an easy choice because it aligns with our core values of giving back to the community, so that others have the opportunities to thrive.”

For every $1 raised at the event, 10 meals will be provided to a child in need and 100 percent of the proceeds directly benefits the mission to end childhood hunger.

This particular event was at was just one stop of many for the national fundraising campaign. Since 1988, TOTN has helped raise more than $98 million for NKH.
