Breakthru Beverage Partnership to Bring Krombacher to Southern Illinois

Krombacher and Breakthru Beverage announced today a new partnership that will bring Germany’s number one premium beer brand into southern and western Illinois.

Opened in 1803, Krombacher has been family owned and operated for more than 200 years. The brewery is known world-wide for its Krombacher Pils, brewed using local, pure mountain spring water – Felsquellwasser® -- giving the pilsner a distinctively soft, low-mineral quality that has become a benchmark for the style.
“The Krombacher Pils is a beautifully clean example of the German Pilsner style,” said Breakthru Beverage Craft Beer Specialist and Master Cicerone David Kahle. “This style is possibly the most challenging to make, as its nuanced character doesn’t hide any flaws. Krombacher has an impressive quality assurance team and it shows in the customer’s glass.”
In addition to Krombacher Pils, Breakthru Beverage IL will also distribute Krombacher Dark, Weizen, Radler and Non-alcoholic Weizen to all non-metro Illinois counties, which excludes Cook, Dupage, Kane, Will, McHenry, Lake, DeKalb, & Kendall counties. Both draft and package will be available beginning March 1, and there will be a strong focus to place this brand in Heartland’s higher-end on-premise accounts.
