Celebrating a Milestone: The 30th Meals on Wheels Chicago Celebrity Chef Ball

Nov. 13, 2018

One of our longtime nonprofit partners celebrated a huge milestone last week, and we were proud to play a small role in joining in on the festivities.

Meals on Wheels Chicago (MOWC) served up the 30th edition of the ever-popular and impactful Celebrity Chef Ball, which is a culinary extravaganza raising more than $200,000 annually and generates one-fourth of the MOWC annual revenue to fund programs for Chicago’s homebound senior and disabilities communities, according to their website.

Breakthru Illinois was once again honored to work with many of our suppliers to provide drinks for this prestigious and charitable event, including Diageo, Brown-Forman, E. & J. Gallo Winery and William Grant & Sons. During the course of an 11-year partnership between Breakthru IL and MOWC, we’ve raise nearly $3 million for the organization, which in turn helps homebound seniors to remain in their homes.

“So many people in our communities rely on Meals on Wheels Chicago every day to live and thrive, we couldn’t be prouder to continue to call them our partners,” said Hillary Wirtz, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Breakthru Beverage Group.

This year, the Celebrity Chef Ball raised enough money to provide 150,000 meals for Chicago’s seniors. Congratulations to Meals on Wheels Chicago for their continued work in bettering the lives of people in our city.
