Breakthru Delaware Steps Up to Support Local Education Organizations

Jul. 8, 2016

One of Breakthru Beverage Delaware’s key community objectives in 2016 is to support local education and to that end we partnered with two top organizations that help thousands of Delaware youths reach new academic heights.

Breakthru DE recently helped set the table for the Delaware Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s 2nd Annual Fundraising Dinner. The event gathered hospitality professionals and educators to celebrate student success and share an evening of great food and drinks, including wine provided by Breakthru DE. In addition to event support, Breakthru DE’s $5,000 donation to the DRA will directly support the ProStart program, which empowers students to achieve successful careers in the restaurant and foodservice sector.

Statewide, ProStart reaches over 3,000 students, giving them a platform to discover new interests and talents through an immersive industry-driven curriculum. Student success is at the core of the program, with 80% of ProStart students reporting classroom engagement and 70% proceeding to post-secondary institutions or finding employment in the hospitality industry.

In another effort to support local academia, Breakthru DE is proud to help support Nativity Preparatory School’s annual “In Vino Veritas” event - an elegant evening supporting the kids of Nativity Prep School. Breakthru DE is a founding sponsor of Nativity Prep and has been a proud supporter for years.

Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington is a tuition-free Catholic middle school for boys and aims to educate the whole person – intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually – in light of the teachings of St. Francis de Sales. Nativity graduates have matriculated into top college preparatory high schools and universities.

Congratulations and thanks to the Breakthru DE team on all the work you have done supporting local youth through sponsorships with these two influential education organizations!
