Breakthru Delaware Delivers For Local Food Bank

Breakthru Beverage Delaware is committed to serving the community, and we are fortunate to be able to partner with charitable organizations like the Food Bank of Delaware as part of that service. Our team recently worked with the Food Bank of Delaware on a company food drive, bringing in 377 individual items and 358 pounds of food for those in need. We are honored to help out in the Food Bank’s mission of delivering food to the state’s most vulnerable residents.

According to the Food Bank’s President and CEO, Patricia Beebe, last year the Food Bank distributed 7.1 million pounds of food, along with 160,800 backpack kits for schoolchildren who need food outside of school and 243,000 meals for children through the Food Bank’s after-school program. In addition, the Food Bank provided 429,867 pounds of food to 3,782 households through 107 mobile pantry distributions, allowing the organization to reach even more people across the state. Our team’s contribution will help support their ongoing programs and, hopefully, make 2017 an even bigger year for the organization as it provides vital nutrition to kids, adults and the elderly.

Tackling hunger is a big job, and it will take all of us. Thankfully the Food Bank of Delaware is leading the way. Working together, we will continue to fight to alleviate hunger in our state.
