Healthy Vibes, Connecticut Distributors, Inc.’s (CDI) wellness committee, made large strides toward a healthy workplace in 2018. For the second year in a row, Healthy Vibes was recognized as a platinum awardee by The Business Council of Fairfield County's Healthy Workplace Employer Recognition Program.
The Healthy Workplace Employer Recognition Program is “the premiere award in Connecticut recognizing the outstanding achievements of businesses and organizations in implementing employee health promotion and wellness programs.” This year’s program honored 57 Connecticut companies for their achievements in health and wellness in the workplace.
This is CDI’s Healthy Vibes’ second platinum award in three years, winning gold in its inaugural year. And it’s a win celebrated throughout the entire company.
“We are thrilled to once again be recognized with the ‘Platinum’ Healthy Workplace Award at CDI,” said Human Resources Director Maura Tancredi. “The Healthy Vibes Committee, along with senior leadership support, continue to embed our wellness initiatives with tangible actions and messages that show our associates we care about their well-being.”
Along with Tancredi, CDI associates from varying departments and levels of management dedicated their time and effort to making “CDI a great and healthy place to work.” The 2018 Healthy Vibes Committee, a diverse group with a common goal, included:

The team meets monthly to identify, create and execute annual goals that revolve around wellness, education, motivation and rewards. Healthy Vibes also strives to create an environment where associates are comfortable living healthier lives both at work and at home.
Healthy Vibes’ 2018 initiatives saw heavy participation due to their creativity and accessibility.
Its Wellness Fair consisted of wellness booths ran by each department throughout CDI, which brought a fun, competitive edge but also showed company-wide support. In the same vein, Healthy Vibes hosted two Lunch and Learn Pot Luck Salad Bars where associates were invited to bring in a heathy side dish, and speakers discussed healthy diets and grocery shopping.
While Healthy Vibes concentrates on health and wellness endeavors, it also works to further CDI’s goal of giving back to the community. During the holiday season, departments throughout CDI “adopted a family,” buying gifts for children whose family couldn’t afford to do so. This powerful and positive initiative helped spread “healthy vibes” throughout December.
