Wirtz and Diageo Support PAWS Chicago Charity Event

Animal Magnetism is a pet-friendly celebration for PAWS Chicago supporters and their furry friends. Sponsoring Animal Magnetism is a way for our business and brands to showcase charitable involvement in animal welfare and the community. For the March 20th event, Diageo and Wirtz Beverage are teaming up to support the charity through a number of brands. Donations and Tanqueray Gin, George Dickel, and Captain Morgan will kickoff the cocktail party and Chateau La Paws™ will be the featured wine.

Chateau La Paws™, a recent Diageo innovation, is a cause-focused brand that benefits no kill shelters and encourages consumers to share their own rescue dog stories for the chance to be featured on social channels and on bottle labels (#CLPdogs). In 2015 Chateau La Paws™ & Diageo Chateau & Estates are donating $100,000 to help fund the rescue, nurturing, and adoption of dogs in need.

Set at Venue One in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, the Animal Magnetism event welcomes nearly 500 of Chicago’s urban professionals and pet lovers for a night of cocktails, live music, dinner, dancing, pet entertainment and an auction.

PAWS Chicago is leading the way in transforming animal welfare throughout Chicagoland. Since its founding in 1997, the number of homeless pets killed in the city has been reduced by nearly 70 percent, but nearly 14,000 homeless pets are still being killed in Chicago every year.

In 2013 alone, PAWS Chicago found homes for 5,872 homeless pets and performed 17,767 spay and neuter surgeries through its Lurie Clinic and GusMobile Spay/Neuter Van. These two medical resources give PAWS Chicago the ability to provide free and low cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and humane education to the city’s most under-resourced families and neighborhoods that need the most help in controlling its pet population.
