It takes one good family to recognize another which is why Wirtz Beverage is excited to announce that Hope Family Wines will be joining Wirtz’s wine portfolios in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin in August.

"We are thrilled to partner with Hope Family Wines on their world-class wines from Paso Robles, CA," said WBM Brand Manager Lisa Martin. "Their commitment to sustainable farming and their family legacy of vineyard management make them a new important part of Wirtz Beverage of MN and we are honored to begin representing their wines."

The Hope family has been producing wine in California’s Paso Robles region for more than 30 years. As early settlers to the region, the Hope family were some of the first farmers to appreciate what has become one of the top winegrowing regions for quality red wine within the Central Coast.

Today, the Hopes cultivate mature vineyards of the varietals best suited to Paso Robles’ climate, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Mourvedre and Grenache. Regardless of the varieties planted, the expression of Paso Robles is displayed in the glass with spice, licorice and berry in the nose, soft textures and silky tannins on the palate.

Hope Family Wines consists of five individual brands, each of which has its own selling points and varietal focus. Learn more about each one of these brands below. Join us in welcoming Hope Family Wines to the Wirtz Beverage Family.

Liberty School

Varietally on target, reliable year after year, Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Cuvee consistently over-deliver value wines of outstanding quality. The Hope family has been making Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon since 1990. Liberty School wines are fruit driven and crafted to reflect true varietal character. The wines are barrel-aged, employing very little new oak, as oak is used as a building component rather than a flavoring agent.

Treana

The Treana wines are the Hope Family’s signature blends. The Treana Red is a blend of two varieties that thrive in Paso Robles: Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Treana White is a blend of Viognier and Marsanne, two varieties indigenous to the Rhone Valley in France that are well suited to the cooler areas of the Central Coast.

Candor

Candor wines offer a  well-crafted wine that exhibits excellent varietal flavor at a fair price.

After years of searching out some of California’s best vineyards, Hope Family Wines has established relationships with top growers of Merlot and Zinfandel for the Candor wines. By using Merlot and Zinfandel grown in the right places and a philosophy that isn’t bound by a single vintage or vineyard, they have built another brand that over-delivers with quality and value.

Austin Hope

Austin Hope has a simple goal: to make spectacular, estate grown Syrah and Grenache. That goal is more than a marketing slogan: it flows directly from the natural advantages of a perfect growing location in the Templeton Gap district of Paso Robles; the intense, flavorful fruit that comes from hand-farming the vineyard; and the skills of a highly talented winemaking hand overseeing it all.

Trouble Maker

Troublemaker is a blend crafted from multiple varietals and vintages. The majority of wine comes from 2011 vintage, with a remaining portion coming from 2010. The younger wine brings forth a youthful vibrancy and freshness while the base vintage (2011) adds complexity and structure that completes the wine.
