Get To Know The Newly Appointed Senior Vice President for Wirtz Beverage Nevada
What brings you to the wholesaler side of the business after 18 years on the supplier side?
I have always respected and appreciated the value and impact of the wholesale business. The distributor has the ultimate accountability for retail execution which is a huge passion of mine. At the end of the day, the distributor has the power to make it happen in the marketplace.
Why Wirtz Beverage?
From a supplier standpoint, working for Heineken USA in Minnesota and Nevada I always admired the company. Wirtz Beverage is well known for being one of the premier distributors in the business, for its people, unmatched portfolio and competitive spirit. It seemed like a great fit for me personally, professionally and culturally.
Why Nevada?
I am mostly familiar with the Strip and Death Valley in Nevada and am just learning about all the state has to offer. The first step was getting my wife interested and motivated to take on this new adventure as a family. She flew in to get the lay of the land and she came back with very positive reviews! Being outdoorsy people, we are especially impressed by the great access to the mountains and canyons surrounding Las Vegas. My wife, three kids, 2 dogs and I are all very excited!
You mentioned having a passion for Marketplace Execution. Could you expand on this?
I’m a big sports guy. I hate losing even more than I love winning and that competitive spirit carries over into business. It’s about winning in the marketplace and seeing things come together as a team with flawless execution. By everybody executing their specific role and responsibility, the entire team will continue to perform at a high level and we will outperform and beat the competition.
Closing Thoughts?
I’m excited for this next chapter. I have a deep admiration for Wirtz and the Nevada team, which is performing well and at a high-level. This is a great situation to come into and I look forward to learning a lot from this team and continuing to help drive the high-level of performance that has been established.
We are so lucky to work in this industry. I believe in hard work, but we also know life is short; we need to continue to enjoy the journey and make sure we have a lot of fun along the way.
