Cool spring weather held out at the Pimlico race course for the Preakness Stakes this year, providing the perfect backdrop for Maryland-area consumers to enjoy the race alongside some of Breakthru Beverage’s top brands. The 142nd running of the Preakness was a big win for our suppliers, who dominated the infield with gorgeous pavilions, VIP areas and even a 30-foot inflatable rum bottle.

The Jägermeister pavilion featured three bars, a trailer, a VIP section, stag’s head ice sculpture, an ice wall and bag toss games for consumers to enjoy throughout the day. The tent was soon packed to capacity as more and more people came by to sample Jägermeister cocktails and, of course, ice cold shots.

The Jack Daniel’s airstream trailer welcomed racing fans to the center of the infield, showing off signature cocktails and the new Southern Peach, Jack Daniel’s Country Cocktail.

Sailor Jerry’s Tiki bar, located near the main stage, was swamped early by concert-goers eager to check out the giant Sailor Jerry inflatable bottle and take photos with the Sailor Jerry custom Harley Davidson motorcycle. Milagro tequila cocktails and RumChata concoctions were also flowing all day long at this prime location.

New Amsterdam Vodka showcased their new advertising campaign, “Pour Your Soul Out,” at a 40-foot crush bar in the infield. Fans lined up all day long to get a taste of these fruit-infused crushes.

And the dark horse of the day turned out to be Dark Horse Wines, pouring from their extensive portfolio at multiple locations throughout the day. Rosé, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon were winners with consumers all over the track.

The races were full of exciting surprises and upsets, and Breakthru Beverage’s supplier partners were there to share in the day, building relationships with their customers and the community.
