Breakthru Beverage in the News

Twenty years ago, Bob Trostel was one of five people who formed a committee, known as “the kitchen cabinet,” dedicated to raising money and awareness for Meals on Wheels of Delaware. The group worked together on a new idea and pulled off the inaugural Celebrity Chef’s Brunch in Wilmington. Two decades later, the event is still going strong and Trostel, now President of Breakthru Beverage Delaware, is still involved.

This year’s event, held at the Du Pont Country Club, featured tastings from 25 chefs, representing the best from around the country and the Delaware gastronomy community, as well as a special appearance by the Food Network’s Anne Burrell. A sold-out crowd of over 1,000 filled the country club, enjoying the gourmet food, bidding on items in the silent auction and sampling drinks from our beverage suppliers. Korbel California Champagne provided mimosas and Ketel One Vodka served up bloody marys, while Santa Margherita Wines and E. & J. Gallo wines offered samples of some of their best brands.

Meals on Wheels of Delaware has provided over 1.2 million meals to the elderly and most vulnerable of Delaware’s citizens, and Breakthru Beverage is proud to support them in their important work.
