Hard Numbers for Soft Drinks

Jun. 8, 2016

You stock your shelves with high quality beer, wine and spirits, but why stop there? You can provide your customers with a selection of soft beverages and mixers that are works of art, ready to take cocktails to the next level or win over fans on their own.

“Research indicates consumers are looking for alternative drink options. In fact, two-thirds (67 percent) of Americans sometimes or frequently purchase new/different beverages, and 18 percent say they drink a wide variety of beverages.” Research from Mintel, QSR Magazine, March 22, 2016

Consumers want options, and non-alcoholic/low-alcohol beers are growing in popularity. Adding high-quality low-alcohol options can help increase your receipts.

“Non-alcoholic beers recorded a 2.54% 5-year CAGR in 2015 (by volume), while low alcohol beers reported a CAGR of 4.9%. This compares to 1.57% for the total beer market.” Rachel Arthur, Beverage Daily, Feb. 26 2016

Today, bottled water is a fact of life, and consumers know that it is not all the same. IRI data shows sales of premium bottled waters, like VOSS, increased by 15.9% in 2015, nearly double the 9.8% growth in total bottled water sales from the same time. Hydration is important, and consumers are willing to pay to do it in style.
